Day 1: Arrive in Tralee
We will meet you on your arrival and transfer you to your accomodation. We give you your bike and accessories plus your route map and detailed guide. Explore and enjoy the many attractions that Tralee has to offer.
Day 2: Tralee to Ardfert via Fenit | 20km
Your bike tour today begins with a leisurely cycle to Blennerville Windmill and visitor centre where you find an exhibition gallery, craft shop/restaurant. It includes an Emigration display and a bird watching platform. Bike along the quiet roads with amazing scenery until you get to Fenit Harbor and Marina. Here you will find the birthplace of St Brendan the Navigator-patron saint of the US Navy. Take time to explore Fenits natural unspoilt nature trails and a wealth of wildlife. From here you will cycle to the historic village of Ardfert where you park up for the day.
Day 3: Ardfert to Ballyheigue via Banna Beach/Kerryhead | 34km
Take time to explore the Medieval Capitol of Kerry which is the village of Ardfert with its great cathedral which rises over the village skyline. Bike your way to Banna Beach, a beautiful Blue flag beach that extends for many miles with magnificent views. Cycle your way to your overnight accommodation in Ballyheigue with its beautiful unspoilt beach and friendly atmosphere. You have a choice to continue cycling and experience "The Kerry Head Cycleway" which is signposted all the way from Ballyheigue. This loop stretches 18km approx with a mix of flat and hilly countryside.
Day 4: Ballyheigue to Ballybunion via Ballyduff | 28km
Your bike tour today takes you on the Coast Road with spectacular views into the village of Ballyduff. Here you can visit Rattoo Tower dating back to the 10th century. Also the Rattoo Heritage Museum which contains local archaeological finds dating back to the Bronze Age and Stone Age. From here you cycle on to your overnight destination of Ballybunion passing the world famous golf club on your way. Enjoy its Blue Flag Beach and traditional seaweed baths. Take a walk on the picturesque Cliffs and experience a stunning sunset.
Day 5: Ballybunion to Tarbert via Ballylongford | 30km
Today you cycle on scenic country roads through the village of Asdee onto Ballylongford. Carrigafoyle Castle is only a short cycle away where you will find a magnificent castle. One of Ireland's finest poet Brendan Kennelly came from this village. Your overnight destination awaits you in the town of Tarbert which is located on the shores of the river Shannon offering lovely walks along the banks of the river. Visit Tarbets Bridewell Visitor Centre which exhibits details on the justice system in Ireland in the 19th century. You may wish to take you and your bike on the Tarbet - Killimer Ferry into the county Clare. Take a leisurely bike ride before returning on the ferry.
Day 6: Tarbert to Listowel via Glin | 29km
From Tarbet cycle along the banks of the river Shannon and enjoy the cool breeze from this majestic river onto Glin. Bike your way back to Tarbet and continue onto the heritage town of Listowel. Visit Listowel Castle which is the best example of Anglo-Norman architecture in Kerry. Take a bike ride into the towns beautiful park and see the Garden of Europe which contains over 3000 trees and shrubs. Visit John Bs Bar home of the famous literacy legend John B Keane before retiring to your accommodation.
Day 7: Listowel to Tralee via Abbeydorney | 27km
Today you cycle back towards Tralee where your adventure bike tour began. Cycle at your leisure and soak up the remaining beauty that surrounds you in this beautiful part of Ireland.
